Wilmington’s own Cape Fear Community College Small Business Center has once again been named the top-performing center in North Carolina—marking three consecutive years at number one. This recognition, awarded through the state’s Small Business Center Performance Allocations, underscores the center’s continued commitment to empowering entrepreneurs across the Cape Fear region.
A Year of Impact
In the 2024–2025 fiscal year, the CFCC Small Business Center made a measurable difference in the local economy:
- 54 new businesses launched
- 185 new jobs created
- 31 existing jobs sustained through support
- 480 hours of one-on-one business counseling provided
- 162 workshops hosted, with nearly 3,700 participants
These results reflect not only the center’s resources, but also its ability to connect directly with business owners and future entrepreneurs, offering tailored guidance that helps dreams become reality.
